Weeknotes: Week 35, 2023

These are the highlights from the week of Aug 28 to Sep 3.

🧸 Inspired by numerous “Uses,” “Everyday Carry,” and “Tech I love” pages I’ve seen lately, I decided to take a swing at documenting my indispensable stuff, which is sort of a mix of all of the above. I still need to work it into my site navigation though.
📺 As you can see from my (automated) Now page summary, there were more lowlights than highlights. I will say this, though: Billions has gone from bad to worse but I’m pot committed.
🥧 I did a little baking again this week, following last week’s chocolate chip cookies: a blueberry pie. The cookies were a huge hit, but the pie was a disaster. I don’t know exactly what went wrong, but the filling failed to set and was runny inside. It tasted good though, and it reminded me that I need to continue to organize my recipe collection. I think maybe there’s another web project in it too. (Stay tuned.)
🌕 I made an attempt to get a photo of the moon this week. It was actually the early morning of September 1st, so it wasn’t the full moon, but whatever. I used an old Nikon mount Promaster 28-200mm zoom, the longest lens I have. Even though the picture is not too good, you can still sorta tell it’s the moon.
