Back Outside! (Weeknotes #25-16)

Bits and Pieces
-
I’ve been making more use of the workouts on Apple Fitness+ lately, especially the yoga workouts. It’s one of the more useful features of my Apple One subscription, which I keep mainly for the shared iCloud storage. I also did the Time to Walk with Adam Scott workout, which was surprisingly interesting.

Work has been a tad frustrating lately. It just seems like everything is a fight. And by that I don’t mean conflict with people, but friction caused by bureaucracy. Some of it comes with very good reason and that’s all fine, but I have to remind myself that even small turns of the wheel represent progress and that I should celebrate that. Baby steps.

We met a longtime dear friend for dinner this week, and it was a joy. These are the things we don’t do enough.

The wife and I took an opportunity after her eye exam to walk around Columbus’ Short North Arts District, which is kind of a funny name now that most of the art galleries have moved to other neighborhoods. It’s mostly shops, restaurants, and bars these days, but there is still some art. When the weather is nice, it’s relaxing to walk up and down High Street and just take it all in.
-
I cut the grass for the first time this year. It also marked the first entry in this year’s collection of Lawnmowing Workout Art.

On Saturday we got the bikes out and took our first ride of the season. As expected, there are a few things that need tuning but nothing huge.
-
After a bit of cleaning, we “officially” reopened our back patio on Sunday. It was so lovely to be able to sit out there again after months of being cooped up inside. And there were mimosas!
